No matter what you are struggling with, remember that on the other side of this difficult time will be increased wisdom, the exciting potential of a better you and more of what you want. We all have a survivor within us, an innate ability to overcome even the most difficult of challenges. Talking to someone can help you harness the strength that lives in you.
I see therapy as an opportunity for clients to realize their own strengths and create the changes they envision for themselves through the safety of a supportive, caring and respectful client-therapist relationship. I believe in keeping therapy as brief as possible by deepening understanding and focusing on solutions.
I have experience working with survivors of trauma, sexual abuse and assault, brain injury, separation and divorce, depression, bi-polar, personality disorders, anxiety, panic, life coaching, grief and loss. Please check my website for more information http://www.dawncoxcounselling.ca .
I hold a Masters degree in counselling psychology from the University of Victoria and I am registered with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). My rates are competitive and on the low end of established CCPA and BCACC rates. This makes my services more accessible to those in need ($100 per hour or $125 for 1.5 hours including HST). An initial session is $70 to see if we would be a good fit and a sliding scale is available if my regular fees are difficult to manage. My fees are covered by extended medical plans that include registered clinical counsellors (RCC).
I am also registered to work with persons receiving funding for counselling from the Crime Victims Assistance Program http://www.pssg.gov.bc.ca/victim_services/cva/ .
My office is located in downtown Victoria on Fort St., on main bus routes and where there is plenty of parking.
#202 - 1028 Fort St. between Vancouver and Cook St. (Side doors)
